PCTW stands for Post-Consumer Textile Waste.
I am passionate about textiles and honouring the precious resource it is. I like the concept for closed loop systems, addressing our environmental impact and being resource conscious is good practice. As I work with textile waste to make new garments I create small of cuts, these pieces go to a place where they are blended and recycled into materials like this.
This laptop case is a circular item. When you are finished with using it, it can be blended and felted, or heat-bonded into a new material.
Its ability to be soft and protective our digital devices is a great use for this material.
